Welcome to my photography. I actively started this journey into photography about four years ago when I started an Instagram account. However my appreciation of photography goes back at least forty years before that.

I started collecting baseball cards at the age of 6 and back then I could tell which photos were captivating, memorable, or just plain bad. Add to that my Dad who was always taking photos: my kid sporting events, family outings, or just his lunch hour wanderings in NYC.

I started using the iPhone Hipstamatic app about four years ago and it's fixed lens helped teach me the importance of moving my feet to get the right framing for well composed and interesting photos.

Right now I shoot with my Fujifilm X100S, XT-20 and my iPhone 7+. All are small and compact and allow me to easily bring my camera with me on the street for street photography and portraiture. I mostly use available light when shooting my photos. I had a great opportunity to practice with both when I visited Cuba in 2016.

About two years ago I discovered roller derby. I find the combination of action and emotion creates an environment to capture a wide variety of shots. It has been a great way to combine my enjoyment of sports and photography.
